For the coating formulation, it needs to consider the ratio of pigment to basic material (PVC). If PVC is less than CPVC (critical pigment volume concentration), the increase in pigment concentration will increase the transparent heat insulation effect of the coating. However, if PVC is bigger than CPVC, voids appear between the pigments, and excessive voids may affect the dispersion stability of the pigment and the film forming property of the coating. Therefore, the ratio of the general pigment to the basic material is less than or equal to the critical pigment volume concentration, so as to maximize the transparent thermal insulation property of the material.
