Nano CsxWO3 Applied for Near Infrared Shielding Material

Nano CsxWO3, or cesium tungsten bronze nano particles, may be used to produce near infrared shielding material for applying in architectural glass. Some experts have synthesized Cs0.32WO3 nano powder by hydrothermal method setting the Cs/W ratio of raw material to 0.5, and using D-malic acid as a reducing agent, at 24h, 48h and 72h at 175°C. Then, the powder obtained was tested by ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared diffuse reflection absorption spectroscopy.

From the test results, the experts found that the synthesized nano grain size Cs0.32WO3 has strong absorption capacity in the 1000-2500nm band, and its absorption capacity is obviously enhanced with the extension of reaction time. In addition, the Cs0.32WO3 nano powder synthesized by hydrothermal reaction for 72h has strong absorption at 1314nm, and its absorbance is close to 1.9, while the absorbance of amorphous Cs0.32WO3 nano powder synthesized by hydrothermal reaction for 24h is 1.06. It is shown that the formation of the rod-like structure greatly increases the near-infrared absorbance of Cs0.32WO3.
