Dysprosium Oxide Prices - July 31, 2023

Rare earth market quotation in China: praseodymium neodymium oxide, holmium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices edge higher in the last trading day in July 2023. 

Although affected by factors such as the recent extreme weather, the strengthening of environmental protection, the good development of the new energy market, and the optimistic future expectations of the rare earth market, suppliers basically have confidence in prices and are reluctant to sell, but due to low downstream buying interest, Vietnam's plan to increase rare earth production and the blockade in Myanmar has been lifted, the room for rare earth prices to rise is limited.

In terms of news: Haitong International predicts that the demand for praseodymium and neodymium will increase by about 14% annually from 2022 to 2030, and there may be a shortage of 4,000 tons by 2030. It is estimated that the market price of praseodymium and neodymium oxide in the Chinese market will be US$90,000/ton in 2023, US$110,000/ton in 2024 and 2025, and the long-term price forecast will reach US$150,000/ton by 2030.
