China’s Tungsten Product Exports in March 2025

According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in March 2025, China’s exports of tungsten products (excluding carbide cutting tools and tungsten halogen lamps, hereinafter the same) totaled 821.72 tons. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 50.97% compared to March 2024 and a month-on-month increase of 28.21% compared to February 2025. The export value amounted to 256 million yuan, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 44.23% and a month-on-month increase of 32.31%.

Of this total, exports of tungsten trioxide, other tungsten oxides and hydroxides not elsewhere specified, ammonium paratungstate, and tungsten carbide were zero due to export controls on dual-use items.

In March 2025, China exported 20.00 tons of tungstic acid, up 4.17% month-on-month. Tungsten hexafluoride exports were 22.80 tons, down 54.44% year-on-year and 20.44% month-on-month. Sodium tungstate exports amounted to 1,000 kilograms, increasing 100.00% year-on-year. Ammonium metatungstate exports totaled 167.53 tons, up 59.65% year-on-year and 27.26% month-on-month. Ferro-tungsten exports amounted to 296.90 tons, increasing 7.03% year-on-year and 70.63% month-on-month. Tungsten powder exports totaled 169.60 tons, down 24.65% year-on-year and up 117.14% month-on-month. Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering, reached 93.08 tons, increasing 33.55% year-on-year and 102.35% month-on-month. Tungsten wire exports were 33.27 tons, down 10.91% year-on-year and up 80.39% month-on-month. Tungsten waste and scrap exports totaled 2,000 kilograms, decreasing 94.67% year-on-year and 55.56% month-on-month. Exports of tungsten bars, rods, profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils amounted to 18.37 tons, down 64.86% year-on-year and 22.77% month-on-month.

In addition, in March 2025, China exported 151.52 tons of coated or plated carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery, representing a year-on-year increase of 47.54% and a month-on-month increase of 52.49%. Exports of other carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery amounted to 130.16 tons, up 18.33% year-on-year and 2.30% month-on-month.
