Rare earth market update on April 21, 2025
At the beginning of the week, the overall domestic rare earth market in China was lackluster. With positive factors gradually fading and weak downstream demand, prices of mainstream products saw varying degrees of decline.
Specifically, praseodymium oxide prices dropped by approximately 4,000 yuan, praseodymium-neodymium metal prices fell by about 5,000 yuan, terbium oxide prices decreased by around 70 yuan, and dysprosium oxide prices declined by about 40,000 yuan. Notably, influenced by the recent fluctuating decline in rare earth raw material prices, the prices of rare earth permanent magnet materials and their waste materials also slid. Today, the prices of 55N neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) blank blocks, NdFeB waste (praseodymium-neodymium), and NdFeB waste (dysprosium) dropped by approximately 3 yuan, 6 yuan, and 22 yuan, respectively. However, supported by production costs, some suppliers showed limited willingness to offer discounts.
News update: Northern Rare Earth expects to achieve a net profit attributable to shareholders of 425 million to 435 million yuan in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 375 million to 385 million yuan compared to the same period last year, representing a year-on-year growth of 716.49% to 735.70%. The company also anticipates a non-recurring profit-adjusted net profit of 429 million to 439 million yuan, an increase of 425.3 million to 435.3 million yuan compared to the same period last year, reflecting a year-on-year surge of 11,468.78% to 11,738.45%.
