This game combines the joys of drinking beer with a variation on darts. It is also known as Beer Darts or Drunken Cricket. Be warned, this game can get you drunk very fast.
1.The object of this game is to try to hit your own number with your dart.
2.Players throw their darts one at a time until all three darts are used.
3.If your dart hits your number, you must take one drink, and subtract one tally mark from your score.
4.If a player hits a double (the narrow band at the outer edge of the board), he/she must drink two times and can erase two marks.
5.Similarly, if a triple is hit (the narrow band at half the diameter of the board), then the player must drink three times and can erase three marks.
6.You are out of the game when you have no more marks left.
7.The scary part of the game is that if your dart hits another player's number, then that player must drink, PLUS add a mark to their total.
8.If you hit a double on another player's number, then they drink twice and add two points. Hit a triple on another player's number and they drink three times and add three points.
9.If a player misses the dartboard completely, he/she must drink once.
10.Any person who hits a bulls-eye can choose someone to drink. One drink is designated for the outer bulls-eye. The inner bulls-eye is worth two drinks, but the drinks can go to different people.
11.Bulls eyes do not affect scoring, but they do use up one of your throws.
12.The last player who has marks left has to drink a beer for each point remaining.
13.Each player takes a turn and throws a dart at the dartboard to determine his/her number for the game. If the next person's dart lands on a number that's already taken, that person keeps throwing darts until they get their own number.
14.Record the players' names with their numbers on a scoreboard.
15.Make 10 tally marks under each person's name.
16.Decide how far back the darts will be thrown from. The normal distance can be used, but any agreed upon distance will work.

Regulation Dart Board Height

If you've never had your own dart board, you probably have no idea of how to hang it. You don't want to get it wrong, or you'll risk being the mockery of all your buddies. Hanging a dart board is quite simple once you review the regulations. The World Darts Federation is a large regulatory body of tournament play with affiliate organizations throughout the world. Their rules serve as the default for tournaments, bars and homes alike.
Height
Hang the dart board at 5 feet 8 inches. This measurement is from the ground to the center of the board, not the top.
Significance
If you think 5 feet 8 inches seems like an arbitrary number, it's not. The easy explanation for this height is that it's approximately eye level for someone who is 6 feet tall. Therefore, your eyes would be aligned with the center of the board.
How to Get a Dart Tip Out of a Dart Board

One of the more frustrating things that can occur during a game of darts is having a tip stay in the board while the back half of the dart breaks off. The broken tip creates a dead spot on the board because, if a player throws a dart in that exact spot, the dart will bounce off instead of sticking properly. Removing broken tips will solve this problem.
1.Assess how you want to remove the broken tip. Some dart boards allow you to push the tip through the board where it falls into a well in the board that can later be removed. If this is the case, use a dart tip tool. It looks like a rounded awl and fits exactly into the dart tip.
2.Insert the dart tip tool into the dart tip.
3.Push the dart tip through the dartboard until you hear it fall into the well.
4.Retrieve the dart tip. Sometimes the well is open and the tip will fall straight out. Other times you may have to flip the dart board over, open a compartment in back and remove the tip.
5.Decide if it's possible to pull the dart tip out. Some dart boards, such as electronic ones, do not allow you to push the tip through, so you need something to remove the tip. Needle nose pliers or a similar tool will get the job done.
6.Place the needle nose pliers around the broken tip. If the pliers are thin enough, place the top side of the pliers into the hollow tip and the squeeze the grip. Otherwise, you will need to open the pliers around the tip and squeeze the grip.
7.You may need to lean your other hand on the wall or dart board for leverage. Continue pulling with the pliers until the dart tip is removed.

How Do Flight Protectors Work in Darts?

Darts is a sport that requires both precision and accuracy. using flight protectors on your darts can improve your throw in a number of ways as well as preventing damage.
Preventing Damage
The flight protectors are small clips made from metal or plastic. They are placed on the top of each flight (covering all four edges) protecting the top of the flight from any possible damage when hit directly by another dart.
Aerodynamics
Flight protectors also keep the aerodynamics of the dart in good shape by maintaining the shape of the flight to avoid unnecessary movement while the dart is in the air. This means the dart is more likely to hit the target if thrown accurately.
Compatibility
All flight protectors fit any shape of flight in either soft tip or steel tip darts, such as pear, kite and dimple shape. For a small price, this handy piece of equipment helps improve performance and safety.

How to Replace Dart Flights

Although darts are rugged metal devices that last for a long time, the flights are not. Flights are made out of feather, rubber or plastic. They need to be removed every time the dart is put away, which gradually fatigues them and wears them out. Fortunately, there are many different replacement dart flights available that you can fit once you understand the process.
1.Choose your dart flights. Standard dart flights are pretty wide, which effects the movement of the dart. They straighten the dart out in the air, which makes them good beginner flights. They are also good for people who like to lob their darts rather than throw them straight with a lot of force. Narrower flights are good for short shaft darts and for aggressive throwers. Check the reference below for more info on dart flights.
2.Pull the old flight straight out of the shaft of your dart. You can save it in your dart case as a spare, or simply throw it out.
3.Inspect the dart shaft. If it is cracked or bent in any way, unscrew it and screw in a new shaft. Plastic shafts go bad all the time, and a new flight won't help your game if it is wobbling around in an old shaft.
4.Gently bend the new flight so that the planes are at right angles to each other. The flight should form two flat, intersecting planes for a total of four fins.
5.line up the flight with the slits on the back of the shaft. Gently push the flight into the shaft until it is all the way in.
