Rare earth market quotation in China: prices of dysprosium oxide and DyFe continue to rise due to the tightening availability of raw materials raising sellers’ strong rised mentality. It was reported that the imports of rare earth mine in Myanmar is expected to be banned for a long time, which raise the worry of tight supply in domestic.
The rare earth mine in Myanmar belongs to the ionic rare earth ore. It is an important raw material source for the production of medium and heavy rare earths in China. The data show that the import of medium and heavy rare earth oxides accounted for 53% of the domestic medium and heavy rare earth mining quotas in 2018. Since the smelting and separation of chemical raw materials from important rare earth minerals to Myanmar has been stopped since December, the production of rare earths in Myanmar has continued to decrease. The imports fell by 67% in January.
