The History of Tungsten Rings

Isostatic pressure sintering led to the development of tungsten which was even harder than before. Tungsten is used in tools, mining, weaponry and even jewelry.

Tungsten rings were originally developed by Osram, a German electric bulb company in the early 1920s; this process to make tungsten carbide has generally been used to create industrial products in place of diamond drawing dies.
