Tungsten polymer, also known as resin tungsten alloy or tungsten resin, is a kind of synthetic resin, composed of tungsten and various polymers which are mixed together to form a non-metallic mixture.
It’s according to the nature of the polymer to determine the performance of tungsten polymer, in which the volume of tungsten particles accounted for 60%, weight accounted for 96%.
The resins may include polypropylene, polybutylene, polyurethane, thermoplastic material, etc. Tungsten resin is widely used and become more and more popular for its high density, small volume, strong anti-radiation, non-toxic, easy processing, resin products, strong plasticity, corrosion resistance, good ductility, and low cost of raw materials, etc.

Tungsten polymer is commonly used as counterweight products. Such as the pine toy car, a kind of children's car toys rely on gravity sliding which are popular in Western countries. Another example is the various models of counterweight. Aircraft model uses tungsten resin to control precisely aircraft flight balance weight. Tungsten polymer is hydrophobic, so it can used as a fishing sinker, which would be easy to conceal and be used in various waters. It can also be used for shielding radiation for its high density.
Tungsten polymer is the best material for shielding and can be used as a substitute for lead, for it has the characteristics of high density, high radiation absorption capacity, simple resin processing, high tensile strength and plasticity. The elongation of tungsten polymers is also higher than that of lead. In the electronic field, tungsten polymer can provide better radiation shielding capability. In addition, it is also a kind of healthy and environmental friendly product, which has no toxic components and long service life.
