Radiographic inspection, as one of the five conventional nondestructive testing methods, has a wide range of applications in industry. It is used for both metal and nonmetal inspection.
Inspection work shall comply with the relevant safety procedures and take necessary protective measures. Tungsten with high density and high atomic number is the most effective shielding material. As we all know, the high density of tungsten is closely related to the radiation density, mechanical properties, strength, and non toxicity.
The possible defects in the metal, such as porosity, pinholes, inclusions, porosity, cracks, segregation, incomplete penetration and lack of fusion, etc, can be examined by radiation, which has been used in the areas of special equipment, aerospace, ships, weapons, hydraulic equipment and bridge steel structure. Commonly used methods are X-ray, gamma ray, high energy and neutron ray flaw detection. For common industrial radiographic inspection, X-ray and gamma ray inspection are generally used. Radiation has a biological effect on the human body, which is harmful to human health.
Tungsten alloy X-ray flaw detector is a nondestructive method using X-ray penetrating material and the attenuation characteristic in material. By using the method of X radiographic photography, it can show the material into parts and welding defects from the X-ray film to evaluate the quality of products.
In industry, tungsten alloy X-ray flaw detector mainly is used for processing parts: first, detecting whether the internal defects have images such as white spots, holes, sand holes, cracks and inclusions, etc; second, whether weld workpiece is qualified or not; third, whether there is injury detection processing; final, judge wether work is qualified. Mobile tungsten alloy X-ray flaw detector is mainly used for nondestructive testing in casting and welding of non-metal parts, to determine its internal defects, cracks, slag hole, bad welding.
