Tungsten Alloy Plasma Accelerator

Tungsten alloy plasma accelerator is a biomedical particle accelerator device for radiotherapy of tumors. Charged particle accelerator is a electromagnetic device to accelerate different forms of charged particles to higher energy by manual method, often known as "particle accelerator".

Currently, electronic linear accelerator is used most common in radiation therapy in the world.

Plasma accelerator can accelerate the motion trajectory of the particle into a straight line, and the swivel accelerator accelerates the particle movement cabinet into other shapes. For electrons and positrons, their trajectories must be linearized. If a cyclotron is being used, it will lose a lot of capacity during the acceleration process, which is called synchrotron radiation.

In order to protect the body from radiation, the alloy plasma accelerator shield is very necessary. Tungsten alloy shield can protect the body from the plasma accelerator radiation for its high-density and low-capacity. Compared with lead, tungsten alloy volume is much smaller, but its high density is able to shield radiation more effectively. Its density is 60% higher than the lead. At the same time, it has excellent workability and corrosion resistance. And tungsten alloy material is an environmental friendly material.

Compared with conventional shielding materials, such as lead and boron carbide, tungsten alloy shielding provides excellent density with small capacity. Compared with the same weight, the tungsten alloy shield is only 1/3 of the volume of lead, but its high density makes it the equal absorption capacity to lead. Tungsten alloy shielding material could be made with thinner thickness but high absorption of radiation in high density. That is why tungsten alloy shielding material is suitable for shielding.
