And what material is such powerful micro drill made by? It is made by ultra-fine grained cemented carbide. The material of circuit board is glass fiber reinforced plastic or epoxy resin bonded glass fiber. The micro drill of integrated circuit board is used for processing and printing of micro hole. The drill needs high wear resistance, strong hardness, high strength and toughness, as well as high hole position accuracy and high elastic modulus. Common cemented carbide and sub-fine-grain cemented carbide drill are unable to meet these requirements. Only nano-grain cemented carbide with a grain size of less than 0.5µ can produce this kind of ultra-fine integrated circuit board micro drill.

Ultra-fine alloy is the cemented carbide made by bonding metal cobalt and tungsten carbide (or other carbide) powder with a size of only 0.3µM.As the grain size of tungsten carbide is very small, not only the toughness and hardness of the alloy are greatly improved, but also the bending strength is greatly increased. For example, the bending strength of YG6 ultra-fine alloy is 1000 MPa higher than that of ordinary cemented carbide. Ultra-fine alloy is suitable for high precision machining in aviation, automobile, electronic information and other industries, especially suitable used as micro drill in PCB processing.
