Tungsten Oxide Photocatalyst Loaded with Titanium Dioxide and Copper Ions

Titanium dioxide is known as a photocatalyst material, but it has little function in the absence of ultraviolet radiation. Therefore, Scientists prefer to study visible-light tungsten trioxide photocatalysts.
In an attempt to improve the activity of catalysts under visible light irradiation, catalysts supported on tungsten oxide surface have been proposed. Due to the degradation of the catalyst itself or the aggregation of metal particles in the promoter, photocatalyst discoloration occurs in some cases when it is used under light, and some measures should be taken to prevent its occurrence. The most common is doped with other metals, such as a tungsten oxide photocatalyst loaded with titanium dioxide and copper ions, which is manufactured by:
1.Pour 690 ml of ion exchange water into the reaction tank equipped with comb agitator and preheat to 95 ℃. While the stirring rate was kept at 300 rpm, 50 g 18% titanium tetrachloride solution was dripped into the reactor at room temperature for 30 seconds, and mixed and stirred in the reactor. The temperature of the mixture was maintained at 95 ℃ for 4 minutes after addition. Cool the reaction tank to 50 ℃ in less than 1 minute in an ice bath. Hydrochloric acid was removed by electrodialyzer, and water dispersed titanium dioxide sol was obtained.
2.The tungsten oxide powder loaded with 0.04 mass fraction of copper ion was suspended in 500 grams of the obtained titanium dioxide sol, and 9 grams (20 mass fraction) of urea were added to it at room temperature. The suspension was heated to 90 ℃ and stirred for 1 hour. Then, after liquid-solid separation by centrifuge, the filter cake was dried at 120 ℃ and cooled to room temperature. The filter cake was crushed in an agate mortar to obtain tungsten oxide photocatalyst loaded with titanium dioxide and copper ions.
The above-mentioned tungsten oxide photocatalyst loaded with copper ion and titanium dioxide is prepared by making the composite of tungsten oxide particles loaded with copper ion and titanium dioxide. By co-existence of urea in titanium dioxide sol and hydrolysis treatment of urea by heating, titanium dioxide can be uniformly loaded on tungsten oxide in a highly dispersed state, and can be effectively manufactured compared with conventional catalysts. Catalyst activity under visible light irradiation increased to two to four times, almost no discoloration occurred under the use of conditions. Under visible light irradiation, it played a high catalytic activity. It was an effective photocatalyst against bacteria and viruses, eliminating odor, deodorizing, purifying air, purifying water and so on.
