Magnesium Tungstate Red Fluorescent Powder

Tungstate is a typical self-starting luminescent material. Its luminescent spectrum is very stable. Its intrinsic luminescent band is very wide and occupies most of the visible region. Cations in tungstate strongly affect the position of the emission band. Tungstates can be activated by some impurities which, when doped into tungstate lattices, can make them luminescent with special properties, such as magnesium.

A method for preparing magnesium tungstate red fluorescent powder has been proposed by some scholars. The process of preparing magnesium tungstate red fluorescent powder includes:

Step 1: According to the stoichiometric ratio of Mg1-xLa2WO7:xEu2+, the raw material is a mixture of magnesium chloride, lanthanum oxide, ammonium tungstate and europium oxide, where x is 0.10.

Step 2:  Adding flux for grinding, grinding and mixing to obtain the mixture;

Step 3: The mixture obtained in step 2 is loaded into a crucible and sintered in a high temperature furnace in a reducing atmosphere and at 1500 ℃ for 5 hours. The magnesium tungstate red fluorescent powder is obtained by cooling.

Magnesium tungstate red fluorescent powder has good dispersion, high luminescent intensity and high stability. These advantages are related to the weight ratio of sodium bicarbonate to sodium fluoride in flux. When the weight ratio of sodium bicarbonate to sodium fluoride is 6-8:1, the luminescent intensity is the highest and can be used to replace the traditional red fluorescent powder.
