Tungsten Oxide Insulating Glass Could Protect Children's Skin Health

Tungsten oxide insulating glass can effectively prevent ultraviolet rays come into the room, and protect people skin health, especially for infants’ and children’ skin health.

The French health magazine "TOP SANT" reported that research has confirmed that low level exposure under ultraviolet can also cause damage to the baby health. And the report suggest parents should not neglect the damage from sunlight when their children are playing outdoors to get better absorption of Vitamin D. Studies shown that one of the important causes of skin cancer is skin sunburn in childhood. According to a medical report from the British Journal of Dermatology, parents should supply the Vitamin D for their children actively instead of letting children playing under the strong sunlight. As the ultraviolet rays from the sun cause damage to human beings indoors and outdoors, and the normal building glass has little effect on the ultraviolet, even in the winter, the UV rays can also reach 90% of summer. The damage from UV rays on children skin mainly includes surface burns, skin blackening premature aging, even the skin cancer.

Because the ultraviolet rays could cause many diseases for human body, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that infants under 6 months of age should not be exposed to the sun. Infants and young children over 6 months of age, including adults, need to wear appropriate clothing and use sunscreen products. Even indoors, the amount of UV rays is 80%-95% of the quantity outside in the same time. However, if the building windows are equipped with tungsten oxide insulating glass, it could not only block the heat from outside, but reduce the penetration of UV rays effectively, which could let the people enjoy the sunshine indoors.
