Bismuth Tungstate Cobalt Tungstate Composite Photocatalyst

Bismuth tungstate is a new type of visible light catalyst. Its band gap is small, its absorption light is strong and easy to be modified. Co3O4 and Bi2WO6 are combined into a composite photocatalyst of bismuth cobalt tungstate with a hydrothermal synthesis method, and the photocatalytic performance is greatly improved. The process of synthesis is:

1.According to the ratio of bismuth nitrate to nitric acid in the ratio of 3 to 1, the bismuth nitrate is added to the nitric acid solution with concentration of 1mol/L to stir 30min, and the bismuth nitrate solution is obtained. Then the sodium tungstate was stirred in the deionized water by the ratio of the mass ratio of sodium tungstate to deionized water, and the sodium tungstate solution was obtained by mixing the sodium tungstate with the deionized water.

2.Sixteen alkyl three methyl ammonium bromide was added to the sodium tungstate solution at a mass ratio of 14:1 to stir evenly, and the mixed solution was obtained. Then the bismuth nitrate solution was added to the mixed solution to get the precursor solution. Incubate for 24h at a temperature of 160℃. After it is naturally cooled to room temperature, it is treated by centrifugation, washing and drying to obtain yttrium tungstate powder.

3.First, the bismuth tungstate powder was added into the cobalt oxide solution having a concentration of 0.05 mol/L in a ratio of 0.01:1 in terms of the mass ratio of the cobalt oxide and the bismuth tungstate, and stirred uniformly to obtain an intermediate product.

4.The intermediate product was dried at 50℃ for 24 hours and ground into a powder. The powdered intermediate product was calcined at 300 ℃ for 4 hours to obtain a cobalt-modified osmium cobalt-tungstate composite photocatalyst.

Bismuth tungstate cobalt composite photocatalyst can effectively treat the herbicide 2, 4-D, or phenol, methylene blue, rhodamine B, methyl orange, heavy metal ion chromium, lead and mercury ions and other polluted wastewater, which has realistic environmental significance. And the preparation method has the raw material purchased from the market or made by the conventional method. It is relatively easy to make the program and the relative cost is low.
