The Strategy of Recycle and Utilization of Tungsten Tailings for Plastic Packing

Tungsten tailings are the solid wastes produced after the classification of tungsten ore. At present, the comprehensive utilization mainly includes the recycle of useful metals and non-metallic ores, but the amount of metal recycle components is small and a large amount of tailings remains. It is used in the production of glass ceramics, ceramics, fire free bricks and hollow bricks, with limited use, high process cost and limited application benefit.
Plastic products are widely used in building materials industry. They are light, cheap, and convenient to use. Mineral used in plastic packing can greatly reduce the cost of plastic products, and has a certain role in enhancing the application of tungsten tailings as plastic filler. Through ultrafine grading and surfactant modification of tungsten tailings, a new type of plastic filler has been developed to effectively improve the strength and wear resistance of plastic products and reduce the cost of plastic production, to find a higher value-added utilization of tungsten tailings, tungsten tailings are widely used to reduce the environmental pollution caused by tungsten tailings solid waste.
The modification method of tungsten tailings, including the following steps:
1.After the tungsten tailings were dried by ball milling and ultrafine processing, the fineness of the fineness was -800, which accounted for more than 90% of the total mass of tungsten tailings.
2.The obtained powders are preheated and dispersed in the heating mixing equipment before adding the 2% aluminates to dry modification. The modified time is 15min, the modified temperature is 120 degrees, and the activation index of the modified tungsten tailings is 67%.
3.The modified tungsten tailings powder added to the polyvinyl chloride or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, the modified tungsten tailings and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) mass ratio of 0.3-1: 1 , the mixed powder was added to the mixer for 30min, the modified tungsten tailings accounted for 60% of the PVC resin, and the mixed powder was added into a twin-screw extruder and extruded and cooled for cutting to obtain the finished PVC plastic pipe.
The method has the advantages of simple process, can make use of tungsten tailings production of plastic filler, because of containing large amounts of garnet, tungsten tailings with high hardness, wear resistance and can effectively improve the quality of plastic products, greatly improve the comprehensive utilization value of tungsten tailings, it has good economic and environmental effects.
