Zinc tungstate is a kind of tungstate. Its molecular formula is ZnWO4. As a photocatalyst, zinc tungstate has a white appearance and its particle size is mostly nanometer grade.
There are two forms of zinc tungstate, crystal form and powder form. Crystals belong to monoclinic crystals and luminescent semiconductor materials. They are mainly used for optical fibers and flash materials. The main application of powders is photocatalysts.
The main synthetic methods of zinc tungstate include precipitation, microemulsion, sol-gel and hydrothermal synthesis. Hydrothermal synthesis is an economical and effective way to prepare nano zinc tungstate.
Bismuth tungstate as a new photocatalyst has the following characteristics: (1) good UV and visible light response; (2) easy to modify; (3) large specific surface area and stable photocatalysis effect; (4) environment-friendly, no secondary pollution.
In the field of photocatalysis, zinc tungstate and bismuth tungstate each have their own strengths, relatively speaking, due to the flash characteristics of zinc tungstate, its degradation of dye wastewater will be better, in order to improve the photocatalytic properties of zinc tungstate , they are also often doped and modified, such as fluorine-doped zinc tungstate, bamboo charcoal composite zinc tungstate and so on.
Bismuth tungstate photocatalyst is mainly used to degrade dye wastewater, pesticide wastewater and pharmaceutical wastewater. Its role is not only efficient, but also does not cause two pollution to the environment, so it is easier to treat industrial wastewater.
