Silver based antibacterial materials have been widely used as antibacterial agents because of their advantages of broad spectrum, safety, heat resistance and durability. The traditional concept is that silver materials have greater advantages in antibacterial than non silver materials.
Zinc tungstate belongs to wolframite structure, is a kind of functional material widely used, because of its excellent electrical, optical and magnetic properties have been widely concerned, the micro nano materials have wide application prospect in luminescent materials, catalytic materials, magnetic materials, laser materials, donor antibacterial materials and other aspects. In the field of inorganic antibacterial, zinc tungstate has a better antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus than silver tungstate. There are many methods for the preparation of tungstate. The ultrasonic chemical precipitation method is a new method of preparation of zinc tungstate in recent years.
The antibacterial property of silver is generally accepted, but it is not universal. It has been found that zinc tungstate is much more effective than silver tungstate in the suppression of Staphylococcus aureus. This may be due to the good crystallinity and high activity of the zinc tungstate powder prepared by ultrasonic / ultrasonic - molten salt method, thus improving its properties.
