European ferro tungsten price stood at USD39.7-40.7/kgW, which has fallen to the lowest level in 17 months. What’s more, it marked the first time that FeW price fell below USD40/kgW since March, 2013. The price of last August was USD48-49/kgW.

Some sellers offered low numbers, liquidating stock. The offer from China was higher, which was determined by domestic price. But European price was rather low, close to cost line, which suggested resistance to further drop.

A ferro tungsten exporter from Jiangxi said that they have yet to receive orders from Japanese customers, and they consumed original inventory for the first time.

Chinese tungsten concentrate was offered at RMB106,000-107,000/mt (USD17,377-17,540/mt, export duty excluded), as downstream demand was depressed. Some miners with high stock had to drop offer, while others were watchful.

A tungsten concentrate miner from Hunan offered RMB109,000/mt (USD17,868/mt, export duty excluded), and only sold materials to Minmetals. Minmetals decreased buying volumes, and real transaction price slipped slightly. It is expected that W concentrates future market would keep steady, and rely on indication floor price next month.
