There’re many types of darts. According to different texture, shapes,and materials, darts can be divided into different types.

According to texture, darts can be divided into hard darts and soft darts. The main difference between them is dart tip material. Soft dart tip is made of nylon and plastic, while hard dart tip is made of steel.

 

According to shapes, darts can be divided into barrel type, torpedo type and straight cylinder type. At present, many famous dart players choose straight cylindrical darts, because they are suitable for all kinds of grip and throwing methods, which are easier to master.

 

Darts can be made of many different materials. Early darts were made of wood. After a period of time, they were made of brass. Now three main materials of darts are tungsten, nickel and silver. Therefore, darts can be divided into brass darts, nickel silver darts, and tungsten alloy darts. Different materials of dart, weight and performance are very different:

 

 

1.Wooden dart: the dart is made of cork, and the tail of the dart is feather. It is the most primitive dart. At present, there is a few manufacturers, and it has become darts fans' collection.

 

2. Brass dart: light, cheap, weight between 12 grams - 22 grams, mostly for beginners and children.

 

3. Nickel silver dart: this is another light dart, made of nickel, copper and zinc, easy to manufacture.

 

4. Tungsten alloy dart: it is made of tungsten nickel alloy with alloy ratio ranging from 70%--97%. Tungsten alloy dart has high density, good air power effect. Tungsten alloy darts are much smaller than other darts, which raises the possibility of throwing darts into the same high division. The vast majority of professional athletes would use tungsten alloy darts.
