Indian Prime Minister's Visit to Japan of Rare Earth And Nuclear Technology As The Focus of Discussion

India is the world's fifth largest producer of rare earth about 3.1 million tons of proven reserves accounted for 3% of global reserves, India intends to open rare earth mining companies in Japan but still does not allow foreign companies direct exploitation of rare earth ore. Singh said: "We want to attract Japanese companies to participate (RE) refining and processing to help improve our price competitiveness." India also wants Manmohan Singh visit to Japan to promote bilateral civilian nuclear energy cooperation agreement negotiations.
