China’s Domestic Rare Earth Prices - February 20, 2023

At the beginning of the week, China’s domestic rare earth prices were still falling. Under the contradiction of limited downstream demand and large stocks of rare earth raw materials, most suppliers showed little confidence in stabilizing prices.

For example, the prices of praseodymium neodymium metal, dysprosium oxide and gadolinium oxide all fell by 5,000 yuan/ton, holmium oxide and dysprosium iron alloy fell by about 40,000 yuan/ton and 15,000 yuan/ton respectively. It can be seen that the market operation of dysprosium and holmium is relatively weak. However, in order to avoid the risk of cost inversion and supported by the firm and stable maintenance of NdFeB blanks, the holders basically maintain rational price concessions.
