Tungsten alloy sheet applied for mobile CT scanner refers to a radiation shielding sheet placed behind the detector of the scanner for absorbing X-rays (not absorbed by the detector). Nowadays, the design of medical equipment is developing in the direction of miniaturization and convenience while taking the performance into account, and the same is true of CT equipment. In order to "offload" the mobile CT device, it is very important to choose a proper shielding material. Compared with traditional lead sheet, tungsten alloy sheet has higher density and stronger radiation protection performance, so it is more suitable as a radiation shielding sheet.

Tungsten alloy radiation shielding sheet is a lead-free shielding sheet that has excellent radiation shielding performance to X-rays and γ-rays, so it is mainly applied for CT room. Although walls of CT rooms have built with 37 solid bricks and the walls are coated with barium sulfate protective material (the ground and ceiling are also coated), the ceiling still needs to be protected by a lead plate of thickness of 3mm. Wherein, the lead equivalent depends on the parameters of CT device.

Tungsten alloy tube can be used as a radiation shield in a mobile CT scanner. The tube is a sleeve made of tungsten alloy plate, with thickness of 1-5 mm. The tungsten alloy shielding tube has a slit with the same width as the detector for X-ray photon emission to realize CT imaging.
