Cesium Tungsten Bronze, CsxWO3 Applied for Heat Insulation Film

Cesium tungsten bronze, with the formula of CsxWO3, holds interesting optical properties (near-infrared shielding effect) so that it is regarded as a promising material in a wide range of applications, such as, the preparation of heat insulation film. Also, it is reported that Cr-CsxWO3 and Mo-CsxWO3 prepared by a water-controlled release solvothermal method have good near-infrared shielding performance. And some experts have investigated the effects of temperature, time and molar ratio on the properties of cesium tungsten bronze by orthogonal experiments.

Through experimental research, it is found that the near infrared shielding effect of the material is best when the reaction temperature is 220 °C, the reaction time is 24 h and the molar ratio is 0.015. Films with different thicknesses were prepared. The thermal insulation efficiency of 10μm-CsxWO3, 20μm-Cr-CsxWO3, 10μm-Cr-CsxWO3 films was 71.6%, 68.8% and 58.3%, respectively. The thermal insulation efficiency of the 20μm-Mo-CsxWO3, 10μm-Mo-CsxWO3, 10μm-CsxWO3 film was 81.1%, 73.3% and 71.6%, respectively.
