Compared with some imported heat insulating films, tungsten oxide heat insulation coatings have a higher shielding rate to solar energy and have a more obvious effect of controlling indoor temperature in the case of the same light transmittance. In summer, it can lower the room temperature by 2-7°C, and in winter it can increase the room temperature by 2.5-5°C, reducing the usage rate of air conditioner and heating equipment.

Such thermal insulating coating mainly consists of tungsten oxide, a nanoscale semiconductor material. In the summer, the semiconductor material is oscillated by free electrons to shield the infrared rays from entering the room. In the winter, it can prevent the indoor infrared rays from escaping to achieve the effect of heat preservation. As the semiconductor material is in nanoscale, the coating can "release" all the visible light in the sunlight, keeping the window glass transparent.
