Tungsten wire plays a crucial role in high-temperature furnace heating materials. Its high melting point, excellent electrical conductivity, chemical stability, and workability make it a core component for efficient and stable heating in high-temperature furnaces.
Tungsten wire has an extremely high melting point of approximately 3410°C. This property allows it to remain solid at high temperatures, unlike metals with lower melting points. When a high-temperature furnace is operating, internal temperatures often reach thousands of degrees Celsius. Ordinary metals simply cannot withstand such high temperatures, but tungsten wire remains stable, continuously providing the necessary heating base for the furnace.
Tungsten wire also has excellent electrical conductivity. When current passes through the tungsten wire, according to Joule's law, the electrical energy is converted into heat energy, causing the tungsten wire to rapidly increase in temperature and generate a large amount of heat. This efficient electrical-to-thermal conversion capability makes tungsten wire an ideal heating source for high-temperature furnaces. It can quickly convert electrical energy into the heat required for high-temperature environments, meeting the requirements of various high-temperature processes such as metal heat treatment and ceramic sintering.
Furthermore, tungsten wire is chemically stable and does not readily react with ambient oxygen, nitrogen, and other gases at high temperatures, thus ensuring its longevity and stable heating performance in high-temperature environments. This ensures continuous and reliable heating during long-term operation of the high-temperature furnace, reducing the need for frequent replacement due to oxidation and deterioration, and lowering operating costs.
Furthermore, tungsten wire can be manufactured into various diameters and shapes through processes such as drawing to accommodate different furnace locations and heating requirements, offering high flexibility and workability.
