How to Determine Men's Ring Size

An accurately sized ring makes all the difference in whether a man will wear it. The correct size depends not only on the size of the man's finger but also on the style of ring. The best way to get the right size is by measuring a ring that already fits correctly however, if this is not possible, you can use other methods. When in doubt, it is better to purchase a ring that is slightly too big rather than one that is too small. In most cases, it is easier to make a ring smaller than larger.

1.Wrap a piece of string or a thin strip of paper around the base of the man's finger.

2.Mark the string with a pen at the point where the string overlaps and makes a complete circle. Remove the string and take the measurement a second time to assure accuracy.

3.Measure the string against the millimeter side of a ruler. Compare this measurement against a chart like the one provided by the website Just Mens Rings or contact a jeweler. Provide a jeweler with the millimeter measurement and she can tell you the ring size that the measurement converts to.
