Brass and steel weights are a bit lighter than lead when it comes to destiny. But unlike tin and lead, brass and steel is often used in spinner bodies and blades effective in stained water. The sharp ticking sound created by brass and steel against beads can distract fish's attention from lures. The bad side is that these materials do oxidize. Steel faster than brass, so care does have to be taken to prevent rusting.
