China's Tungsten Products Imports in the Third Quarter of 2025

According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in the third quarter of 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) totaled 7,006.12 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 48.88% compared to the third quarter of 2024, and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 45.47% compared to the second quarter of 2025. The import value reached RMB 940 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 57.78% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 63.06%.

From July to September 2025, China imported the following tungsten products:

Tungsten ores & concentrates: 6,328.88 tons, a year-on-year increase of 72.02% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 45.39%.

Tungsten trioxides: 10.05 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 32.68% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 629.01%.

Other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, nes: 35 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 99.92%, compared to 3 kg in the second quarter of 2025.

Tungsten hexafluoride: 103.89 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.17% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 11.49%.

Ammonium paratungstate: 2,002 kg, with no recorded imports in the third quarter of 2024 and 0 kg in the second quarter of 2025.

Sodium tungstate: 452.83 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 37.62% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 49.99%.

Calcium wolframate: 78.30 tons, with no recorded imports in the third quarter of 2024 and 0 tons in the second quarter of 2025.

Ammonium metatungstate: 1 kg, with no recorded imports in the third quarter of 2024 and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 99.52%.

Carbides of tungsten: 13.62 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 65.14% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 41.42%.

Tungsten powders: 5,636 kg, a year-on-year increase of 46.85% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 28.74%.

Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 311 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 77.41% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 67.50%.

Tungsten wire: 1,803 kg, a year-on-year increase of 47.06% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 23.32%.

Bars & rods, excluding those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils: 2,118 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 52.88% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 122.25%.

Additionally, from July to September 2025, China imported:

Knives and cutting blades, for machines or mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 187.78 tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.60% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 1.20%.

Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 150.75 tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.99% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 15.89%.
