China Rare Earth Market - November 4, 2022

This week, China rare earth market remained weak as a whole, mainly reflected in the weak trading atmosphere on the market, the continuous decline in the prices of praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium and terbium products, few new orders and an unclear market outlook.

Currently, the prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide, dysprosium iron alloy and terbium oxide have dropped to around RMB 650,000/ton, RMB 2,280,000/ton and RMB 13,300/kg, respectively.

According to Chinatungsten Online, although the prices of energy such as coal and oil are not low, as well as the good development of emerging industries such as wind power generation and new energy vehicles, most rare earth suppliers are still willing to maintain firm quotations, but the funds are insufficient, and The limited spending power of magnetic material companies and polishing companies has also led to a small number of stockholders who are more willing to sell at lower prices.

In terms of news: data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in the first three quarters of 2022, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 3.9% year-on-year, 0.5 percentage points faster than the first half of the year. Among them, the output of new energy vehicles and solar cells increased by 112.5% and 33.7% respectively year-on-year.
