Composition of Tungsten Carbide Mining Button

The operation condition of tungsten carbide mining button beading layer is relatively complicated. During the cutting of coal and rock, the mining button not only needs to bear cyclic pressure, tangential stress and the effect of impulsive load but also have to stand the long-time abrasive wear, the temperature rise caused by impacting force and the corrosion caused by corrosive medium.

The tungsten carbide mining button is composed of mining button handle, button head and alloy head. The hardness of bit is 40-45HRC. The pounding tenacity is not less than 49J/cm2. There are many types of mining buttons. The general structure is to insert a alloy head into a steel body with low-alloy structure that has been quenched and tempered.
The wear resistant beading layer of mining button is a circle strip with a certain width(20~30mm) and a certain thickness(2~3mm) which is formed by adopting the way of the beading along the button circle. This circle strip prevents button head from directly contacting with the coal and rock in order to avoid the wear of base metals. Meanwhile, the extension of button head lifetime guarantees the normal operations of button bit which avoids the invalidation of button caused by the premature detachment of bit.
