If you're wondering why your foam darts never go where you aim them, you're not alone. Foam darts used in dart guns rarely follow the direction you intend because they are simply too light to fly in a straight trajectory. Adding just a little bit of weight in the front of the dart, right underneath the Velcro or suction-cup head, is an easy way to streamline darts, increasing your accuracy and making you a formidable opponent in dart games.
.Use a knife to cut a slit into the heads of the darts. Lay the dart sideways on a table so you are looking at its profile. Place a sharp knife in the center of the dart's head, parallel to the top and bottom of the dart head. Saw the knife back and forth until you create a slit halfway through the dart head, where you will find a small opening.
.Place a bead of hot glue at the top of the dart shaft, in the center of the dart's head.
.Place a BB in the hot glue, making sure that it is completely centered in the dart's shaft. An uncentered BB will make the dart fly crooked.
.Place a bead of hot glue on top of the BB and fold the head of the dart gun over the BB. Hold the head firmly closed as the glue dries.
