New darts league season begins

The BSC Friday Night Individual Darts League started it’s 24th season last Friday night with a new set up of five boards this year.
Debra Royal and Harry Lee got the new season under way. It was very close Deb just edged it 4-3 also getting the first 180 of the season.
Sam Sambo Dawson then took on defending champion Chris Royal. Sambo started very well with an 18 darter and a 75 finish. Chris rallied back to level and take the next leg. Sam hit back again and then both took legs to send it to a decider which Chris took to win 4-3.
Sean Rickell was back into to the league. Rickell took on Dave Snip Hasnip. This was a really good close match. Snip had the success on the doubles to take a good 4-2 win.
Another player back in the league former champ Jamie Robson. Facing him was Harry Lee, both not at their best and a bit rusty. Jamie though was the better on the finishing and took the match 4-2.
As the league had increased to 57 players and gone to five leagues a new and tough league was formed now called the Pizza Perfection Championship.
Paul Taylor took on Rob Cade both were very steady but Paul was finishing very strongly including a 70 checkout to seal the match 4-1.
It was Good to see a former premier player back Simon Trigg who faced Pete Grooby. Pete was pretty steady and a 76 finish for an 18 darter sealed the win 4-1 Simon lacking matches after a four year break said he was heading for the practice board.
Kev Lenton took the opener against Dave Holland. The next couple of legs were tight but Dave was finding the doubles first to go 3-1 up and as kev set up a double in the 5th Dave picked off a 90 finish to take a good 4-1 win.
Last Years Division one winner Anthony Bennett then faced Paul Hicky Hickinbottom who was making his debut in the league. Hicky started very well and was soon two up, Anthony fought back well but Hicky’s finishing was top draw picking off a 100 and 76 finishes to get a dream start of 4-0.
Early for cups but the Flynn Cup was battled by father and son Mick and Dan, fairly close but it was Dan who was slipped the Micky Finn as dad turned it his way 4-1.
