First, dartboard , depending on the material , is divided into four kinds :

1 Paper dartboard . Paper is a material. There are a variety of specifications. Low cost, but  it will leave an obvious hole after a dart-tip stabed the dartboard. It is generally not used as an official competition target .

2 Flocking dartboard. Paper is the main material. The front is being flocking process ,with high cost than paper dartboard. It is reported that flocked dartboard is  invented in  China. The surface is soft, no cracks, holes  is not obvious. Currently in China it belongs to the mid-range dart . There are 12 inch, 15 inch, 17 inch, 18 inch specifications. It is not used as an official competition target.

3 Linen dartboard. With sisal as material, which is widely used in international competition darts target species . It has good throwing  feelings, healed holes, basically no trace. It, higher costs and a high-end dartboard, only has 18 inches.

4 Plastic dartboard, also known as soft dartboard. The material is hard plastic. Designed with a plurality of apertures onto the target with the darts, plastic tip darts are used. This is high security darts, but darts have worse feeling. It is lack of realism and easy to play darts off. There are simple and electronic scoring. Electronic scoring type is higher price, the current penetration rate is low. Soft dart is slightly larger than the hard dartboard specifications.

Second, the diameter of the dartboard is generally divided into the following criteria:

1.12 inches (305mm), suitable for games.

2.15 inches (380mm), more suitable for family entertainment .

3.17 inches (430mm), suitable for practice and games.

4.18 inches (460mm), standard regular game.
