The deep hole drilling processes are separated by the ways cutting coolant removes heat and flushes the chips. Generally ,While using tungsten carbide cutting tools, the deep drilling types are fallen into three categories,

Gun Drilling

The tungsten carbide cutting tool is a fluted solid rod uses carbide tips and recognized as a straight fluted drill with ability to offer the coolant entry and chip removal. Coolant is injected through the center hole, when it flows back outside the drill, the chips and the heat are removed.

Boring and Trepanning Association

The tungsten carbide cutting tool is a tube. Coolant enters around the cutting tool surface and removes the chips out through the center tube. The acceptable minimum sizes of diameter is over15.6mm ,since the technology limitation.BTA drilling becomes more effective than gun drilling around a 50mm hole diameter.

Ejector System

The cutting tool is a set with two nested tubes.Coolant is carried through the smaller tube to the cutting face and the cutting chips are removed via bigger tube.
