Tight Supply Of Tungsten Material

The main factors causing the tungsten raw materials tight are that the cost of tungsten concentrate is under serious oppression while tungsten enterprises have low spirit to sell goods. Secondly, bad weathers in Hunan and Jiangxi and other places have certain effect to the production of tungsten mines and smelters. Thirdly, it is also an important factor that a lot of trading capitals began to enter the market.

It is difficult to have a transaction in yesterday’s tungsten concentrate market, enterprises holding stock to wait for the price to increase. A Henan tungsten mine quotes low-grade scheelite for RMB 1200/ton, and quotes APT for close to RMB 130,000/ton. Additionally, local intermediate products of high grade tungstate’s prices are RMB 127,000/ton.

At present, the smelting market continues its tense situation, and the spot is very limited. Given that tungsten concentrate supplements are difficult, smelters’ sales strategy on APT is to try to sell on high price or stop to give quotation. The current mainstream APT price reached RMB 127,000 to 129,000/ton.

With the raw material market becoming warmer, the tepid tungsten powder market has changed. the mainstream of Jiangxi powder processing enterprises said that at present the tungsten powder orders have increased, but the price temporarily did not change which is still in the RMB 198 to 202/kg.
