XTC Forms Rare earth Industrial Chain, Xiamen Promotes New Materials Industry

Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd (XTC) has built a relatively complete rare earth industrial chain in recent years, and Xiamen city has achieved rapid development in terms of scale, technology level and innovation capability of the new materials industry. There are more than 360 new materials companies cluster here and has formed the industrial pattern of special metal, functional materials, photoelectric information materials, advanced polymers, and composite materials, with a production value of 88.878 billion yuan, a growth rate of 14.84% in 2018.

XTC has built a relatively complete industrial chain. The rare earth hydrogen storage alloys and crystal materials are at the leading level. The Institute of Rare Earth Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has a strong influence in China. The energy storage materials cover cathode materials, separators, electrolytes, and conductive agents. XTC is also the strongest hydrogen storage alloy powder manufacturer and the third-largest lithium-ion cathode material manufacturer in China. It is the only power ternary material exporter in domestic.

New materials refer to a class of materials that have recently emerged or are in development, have excellent performance or special functions not found in traditional materials, or use new technologies (processes, equipment) to improve the performance of traditional materials. As a support for the development of the entire strategic emerging industry, new materials have important strategic significance for promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, promoting technological innovation, and ensuring the construction of major national projects.

According to Xiamen's "New Materials Industry Chain Group 2018-2022 Development Plan", the city will focus on creating a high-influenced, domestic first-class characteristic new material industry innovation and development highland, strengthening five characteristic industrial clusters, and cultivating several domestic leading enterprises and well-known brands. Strive to achieve an industrial output value of 100 billion yuan in new material regulations in 2020.

Xiamen will further optimize new material innovation service environment, build R&D platforms such as innovation centers, new R&D institutions, test evaluation platforms and build 10,000-ton hard alloy industrial parks, new energy materials industrial parks, permanent magnet motor industrial parks, advanced carbon materials industrial parks and the Xiang'an New Material Industrial Park.

In the development direction and key areas of the new materials industry, Xiamen will be able to meet the needs of manufacturing transformation and upgrading national major projects and consumption and expand and strengthen compound semiconductors such as tungsten and molybdenum materials and high-end aluminum foils. The city will focus on the development of pure rare earth metal and oxide targets, high-performance permanent magnet materials, new magnetic refrigeration materials, rare earth hydrogen storage alloy materials, laser crystals, and magnetic composite plastics.
