Why a wetting agent is necessary in the production of coating? Wetting agents are designed to accelerate the wetting of pigments and fillers in the coating system and for further dispersion. Most inorganic nanoparticles are difficult to wet in aqueous solution. After adding a certain wetting agent, the surface tension of the solvent is lowered, and the nanoparticles can be effectively wetted. And why do you need to add a film forming additive? Film forming additives are high-boiling solvents that are added to the coating to help the polymer form a film. They can reduce the minimum molding temperature and improve the scrub resistance, but they also affect the hardness and the stain resistance of the film. The film forming additive will cause the emulsion to break, so it needs to be added slowly.
