Sources in the US mentioned that little-to-no fluctuation has occurred over the past several weeks as the tungsten carbide market has fallen into a stable trend. The only shift seemed to occur early this month when APT prices were forced up, however, with unvaried interest and bigger players not buying with much frequency, the tungsten carbide looks to keep a similar trend into the latter portion of the year. 

Participants also mentioned that China suppliers are adamant about relaying information on possible price hikes, however, players have not seen anything to suggested that figures will be appreciating.

Known as the crown of the engine, turbine disk is the most critical core component in aero engine. The high-temperature powder alloy materials are the essential material for manufacturing high-performance, high reliability and long-life advanced aero engine turbine disk. So far, the extrusion technology of aero engine powder turbine disk material had been only mastered by Wyman Gordon Company in U.S. and Abu Dua in France and served for their own aviation industries.

The turbine disk powder material system of aero engine and the powder disk processing technology for engine in China is close to that in Europe and in U.S.. However, due to the equipment limitation, the extruding and cogging technology­­ of large amount of deformation, one of the key technologies in manufacturing the powder disk hasn’t been implemented. North Heavy Industries Group’s construction of 36,000 tons of ferrous metal vertical extrusion machine offered the basic measure to solve this problem effectively, and realized a leapfrog development in this technology. Wang Wuxiang, the expert and researcher of Chinese well-known aerospace materials said, excitedly in the scene of extrusion trial:“North Heavy Industries Group has just realized another decades-long dream of Chinese aviation during the past several years.”

                  

The success of the trial allows North Heavy Industries Group to give full play to the production capacity of 36,000 tons of ferrous metals vertical extrusion machine and consolidated the technical foundation of improving the competition ability of specialty materials and products.
