Praseodymium Oxide Prices – May 31, 2023

The overall situation of China’s domestic rare earth market has gradually improved on May 31, 2023, which is mainly reflected in the rising price of light rare earths. The price of heavy rare earths is stable and relatively strong, and the price of NdFeB roughs is firm.

According to Chinatungsten Online, in addition to the good development of rare earth downstream industries such as wind power and photovoltaic industries, which has driven the development of rare earth functional materials industry, the spot supply of praseodymium, neodymium and other rare earth raw materials is not much, which is also an important reason for the rise in rare earth prices. At present, the prices of praseodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium oxide and dysprosium-iron alloy have been raised by about 15,000 yuan/ton, 3,000 yuan/ton and 10,000 yuan/ton respectively.

In terms of news: According to the National Energy Administration, as of the end of April this year, my country's installed wind power capacity was 380 million kilowatts, and photovoltaic power generation installed capacity was 440 million kilowatts. %, photovoltaic power generation accounted for 16.6%. From January to April 2023, the newly installed wind power and photovoltaic capacity in the country will be 62.51 million kilowatts, accounting for 74% of the country's newly installed capacity, an increase of 11.5 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, 14.2 million kilowatts of wind power and 48.31 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation were added, accounting for 16.8% and 57.2% of the country's newly installed capacity respectively.
