Tungsten Heater for Vacuum Plating——Shelve-On

Vacuum deposition is a family of processes used to deposit layers of material atom-by-atom or molecule-by-molecule on a solid surface. The deposited layers can range from a thickness of one atom up to millimeters, forming freestanding structures.  It is widely used in metallic films, transparent conductive oxides (TCO), superconducting films & coatings. Multiple layers of different materials can be used, for example to form optical coatings. When the vapor source is a liquid or solid the process is called physical vapor deposition (PVD). Vacuum metallization is a process that creates a unique quality finish used in the manufacture of products worldwide When the source is a chemical vapor precursor the process is called chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Often a combination of PVD and CVD processes are used in the same or connected processing chambers.

The points of operation of shelve-on and shelve-off:

1. Check up the base oil quality before the shelve-on, if it is unqualified, it should be cleaned and hen re-oiling.
2. Clamp must be stable to ensure that injection mold parts do not fall when rotating vacuum chamber.
3. Loading and hanging position of injection mold parts would have marks after plating. In addition, if the clamping force is too large injection mold parts may be deformed, so operators can the inlet / runner as loading and hanging position, and then remove it after the plating.
4. In the process of shelve-on, operators should not touch the valid trial of injection mold parts, avoid leaving fingerprints smudges to impact plating effect.
5. Cage should keep clean, and it needs a good scrub regularly.
6. Operators should carefully remove the injection mold part, and it should not be scratched.
7. Interlayer should be padded with a clean paper.
8. Plastic pots should be covered well to avoid dust.

Features of Tungsten Granule in Infrared Carbon Sulfur Analyzer

Infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer is a kind of instrument for analyzing the content of carbon and sulfur of non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals and other substances. The analysis of content of the carbon and sulfur by Infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer is accurate and fast with a high sensitivity.

Tungsten granule is a rare refractory metal, and it is located in VIB sequence of the sixth cycle in the periodic table.  Tungsten granule is made by tungsten processing. Tungsten is the hardest melting metal, its melting point is 3380 ℃ with a high purity above 99.95%. As the additive of Infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer, tungsten granule can enhance the accuracy and the stability of the decomposition results. When analyzing, tungsten granule can also have function in heating and catalyzing, which can greatly improve the efficiency of Infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer. Tungsten granule can be oxidized easily at a high temperature, and release large amounts of heat quickly. In most cases, tin is mainly applied to reduce the effect of insufficient fluxing by tungsten granule and improve the stability and accuracy.

Tungsten granule can release carbon and sulfur sufficiently by reducing the melting point of combustion. The size of tungsten granule should within 0.84 and0.42, the porosity is about 15%. It can avoid the interference of oxygen. This type of tungsten granule can also accelerate the burning of oxidation and reduce adsorption of surface.

What Are Tungsten Bronzes II

The cubic arrangement described above with an atom in the center of a cube is typical for perovskites, a group of ceramic materials with a variety of interesting electrical properties. The high--temperature superconductors are among these. In the cubic phase, tungsten bronzes are metallic and conduct electricity. However,in the hexagonal phase, they become superconductors. William Moulton, at Florida State University in Tallahassee, has done a lot of work with potassium, rubidium and cesium tungsten bronze superconductors. Dr. Moulton points out that these differences in properties depending on the direction of measurement in the crystal. The temperature at which a material becomes superconducting, of about 6K.

Iowa State University in Ames was another center for tungsten bronze research. There, Douglas Finnemore studied the effects of pressure on the transition temperature of potassium tungsten bronze. The object was to enhance the interaction between electrons and the lattice vibrations, or phonons. However, these tungsten bronzes were still superconductive at only 4K.

Howard Shanks, also at Iowa State, was able to produce sodium tungsten bronze compounds that were superconductors at as high as 10K. Part of his success was due to techniques he developed tp grow large crystals of this material, some as large as 3 inches. Dr. Shanks finds it ironic, in light of today’s superconductor research, that one of the reasons why work on tungsten bronze was dropped was because so many saw no future in oxide superconductors.

Other work at Iowa State has included using sodium tungsten bronze as a coating for one of the electrodes in a fuel cell that used hydrogen and oxygen as fuel to produce electricity. The test cell that was built ran for about a year. Another application that was investigated was using tungsten compounds for hydrogen storage. It was found that for HxW03 with x<0.5 hydrogen could move in and out of the material with ease. Some of this work was also done in Germany.

Tungsten Carbide Reamer Ⅷ

In part 7 we know that rose reamer is secondarily used as softening tungsten carbide reamer and tapered reamer is used to make a tapered hole so that a tapered pin can be fixed in.And here we explain shell reamer and more taper reamer which are all tungsten carbide reamers.

Shell reamer
Shell reamers are designed for reaming bearing and other similar items. They are fluted almost their whole length.

Morse taper reamer
A morse taper reamer is used manually to finish morse taper sleeves. These sleeves are a tool used to hold machine cutting tools or holders in the spindles of machines such as a drill or milling machine. The reamer shown is a finishing reamer. A roughing reamer would have serrations along the flutes to break up the thicker chips produced by the heavier cutting action used for it.

A Preparation Method for Ag-WC-C Contacts

Adopt solid phase sintering method to prepare Ag-WC-C contacts (Material: silver powder, plate-like grains of tungsten carbide and graphite powder), wherein milling method can be chemical coating powder method.
Preparation process:
1. According to percentage of their content to weigh silver powder, tungsten carbide powder, graphite powder and metal additive powder, such as cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni) or zirconium (Zr). Among which,

Silver accounts for 84-85%; tungsten carbide powder of 12%; graphite powder of 3%; metal additive powder accounting for 0-1%.
Use stainless steel wire mesh to sieve the above-mentioned materials, and then pour them into a blender after mixing.
2. The preparation of silver nitrate solution. Silver should be fully dissolved in concentrated nitric acid.
3. The prepared silver nitrate solution is poured into the reaction vessel, then, complex it with ammonia, until the PH value rise to 10. Then adding the mixing powder to reaction vessel and stirring.
4. Continue stirring, use atomization device to add the reducing agent hydrazine hydrate to the reaction vessel in liquid spray-way until the reaction is sufficient.
Hydrazine hydrate, a colorless transparent oily liquid owns strong basicity and strong reducibility, which can act as a reducing agent and an antioxidant.
5. Washing the mixing powder with distilled water after processing by the above steps until it is neutral, then dry it in a dryer, the temperature is controlled at 90 ℃, dry mixing powder of silver coating can be available.
6. Pressing the dry mixing powder of silver coating (cold pressing), to form its shape, then, sintering it in a sintering furnace, in hydrogen atmosphere, temperature of 750-890 ℃, sintering time of 3-5h, and then re-pressing at a pressure of 10-20T / Cm2 and, ultimately, Ag-WC12-C3 contacts is prepared.
