Tungsten Alloy Shaped Charge Liner

As one of the important means of penetration technology, armor technique has been systematic studied in China in recent decades. Shaped charge liner, one of the key components of the hollow charge warhead, has been studied accordingly. 

Shaped charge liner has two basic types: cone shaped charge liner with angle less than 700 and the disc or hemispherical shaped charge liner with angle greater than 1200. As the core component of shaped charge, the jet is formed under the driving of explosive products, and finally the target is penetrated. So the quality of liner is directly determined by the explosion of warhead penetration ability. 
 
The penetration ability of the jet penetration, the jet length, and the jet is proportional to target material square root of the density ratio and the square of the jet velocity. It also is related to jet stability, continuity, and size, etc. Materials that is conducive to improving the stability of jet materials should have high melting point, high density, high speed, fine grain, proper grain orientation, good elongation, minimize manufacturing defects, low impurity content, high dynamic strength and high toughness. Therefore, the metal material used in the manufacture of drug type covers must have the characteristics of large density, good plasticity, proper strength and low melting point.
