Porous WO3 electrochromic film can be prepared by anodic oxidation process. Experts say that the tungsten trioxide electrochromic film prepared by anodic oxidation method tends to have a loose porous structure, which is more conducive to ion insertion and extraction, so that it has better electrochromic properties.

Experts also said the preparation of tungsten trioxide electrochromic thin films by anodic oxidation method is a process of oxidation of tungsten, which is carried out at a certain anode potential in an acidic solution such as H2SO4, H3PO4, HNO3, or a neutral solution such as NaF, and generally based on metal tungsten in the form of a film. Specifically, some experts sputtered a layer of elemental W on the surface of ITO conductive glass by magnetron sputtering method. Subsequently, a porous WO3 film was prepared by anodizing in a NH4F solvent. And the porous WO3 film is then acid treated in a 1 mol/L sulfuric acid solution to achieve the transformation of nanostructures.
