According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, from January to May 2025, China's exports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) reached 5,995.50 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.36% compared to the same period in 2024. The export value was RMB 1.821 billion, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 14.74%.
During this period, China's exports of specific tungsten products were as follows:
Tungstic acid: 62.40 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1,460.00%;
Tungsten hexafluoride: 187.97 tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.68%;
Sodium tungstate: 22.00 tons, a year-on-year increase of 86.44%;
Ammonium metatungstate: 1,435.02 tons, a year-on-year increase of 73.21%;
Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 926.34 tons, a year-on-year increase of 213.75%;
Tungsten wire: 156.17 tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.27%.
Exports of the following products decreased:
Tungsten trioxides: 330.48 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 73.22%;
Other tungsten oxides & hydroxides, nes: 157.77 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 72.69%;
Ammonium paratungstate: 122.50 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 52.78%;
Carbides of tungsten: 386.78 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 76.70%;
Ferro-tungsten: 1,263.49 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.15%;
Tungsten powders: 520.98 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 19.93%;
Tungsten waste and scrap: 158.37 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 45.93%;
Bars & rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc.: 168.79 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 41.58%.
Additionally, from January to May 2025, China exported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 653.13 tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.98%;
Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 799.84 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.79%.
