According to data compiled by Chinaungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, from January to March 2025, China’s cumulative exports of tungsten products (excluding carbide cutting tools and tungsten halogen lamps, hereinafter the same) totaled 3,316.95 tons. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 24.06% compared to January-March 2024. The cumulative export value amounted to 1,005 million yuan, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 14.89%.
Of this total, from January to March 2025, China exported 127.58 tons of tungsten hexafluoride, up 31.48% year-on-year. Ammonium paratungstate exports totaled 122.50 tons, increasing 10.66% year-on-year. Ammonium metatungstate exports amounted to 562.07 tons, up 20.30% year-on-year. Tungsten powder exports totaled 410.84 tons, increasing 13.02% year-on-year. Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering, reached 280.96 tons, up 104.71% year-on-year. Tungsten wire exports were 89.27 tons, up 0.47% year-on-year. Tungsten trioxide exports amounted to 330.48 tons, down 48.74% year-on-year. Exports of other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, not elsewhere specified, were 157.77 tons, down 50.31% year-on-year. Sodium tungstate exports totaled 1,000 kilograms, down 84.62% year-on-year. Tungsten carbide exports amounted to 291.58 tons, down 69.51% year-on-year. Ferro-tungsten exports totaled 618.12 tons, down 26.49% year-on-year. Tungsten waste and scrap exports amounted to 106.50 tons, down 21.99% year-on-year. Exports of tungsten bars, rods, profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils totaled 115.18 tons, down 6.60% year-on-year. Tungstic acid exports amounted to 58.40 tons.
In addition, from January to March 2025, China exported 383.32 tons of coated or plated carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery, representing a year-on-year increase of 8.46%. Exports of other carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery amounted to 464.63 tons, down 0.86% year-on-year.
