HC Starck recently signed a joint venture6 agreement with Nui Phao Mining, a subsidiary of Masan Group, one of Vietnam’s largest private-sector business groups.

 For the production of value-added tungsten chemicals in Vietnam. As part of the venture,  Nui Phao will begin work on the construction of a tungsten chemical plant.

With the first stage to start production sometime in August. The plant is expected to be completed in 2014.

Which is one of Vietnam’s largest private-sector business groups, for the production of value-added tungsten chemicals in Vietnam.

What makes the partnership with Nui Phao significant is that the company is developing one of the world’s largest tungsten mines.

It has an expected 15-year life and is located in Vietnam. The German company believes the deal with Nui Phao is just the ticket to increase its presence in Asia.

China ammonium paratungstate market (APT  market) keeps quiet this week, and the market participants are cautious in making deals.

The guiding price for APT was RMB230,000t USD426mtu, unchanged compared with those of last month. But under the current tungsten concentrate prices, it still hovers at the production.

Carbine Tungsten Limited is pleased to announce that long-term off-take partner, Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Japan (“Mitsubishi RtMJ”) has recently participated in a site visit to the Mt. Carbine Tungsten Project in North Queensland.

Immediately following the site visit on 12 July 2013, Mitsubishi RtMJ’s President, Mr Kenji TANI conducted an interview with Japan Metal Bulletin.

In the interview, Mr. TANI reiterated Mitsubishi RtMJ’s interest in providing funding for the development of the Hard Rock Project and resulting off-take participation, specifically citing the terms of the signed MOU and advance payment.

Carbine Tungsten Limited is pleased to announce that long-term off-take partner, Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Japan (“Mitsubishi RtMJ”) has recently participated in a site visit to the Mt. Carbine Tungsten Project in North Queensland.

The site visit was yet another step in the strengthening relationship between Carbine and Mitsubishi RtMJ following the initial sales contract signed in May 2012.

Since this time, Carbine has continued shipments of Tungsten concentrate exclusively to Mitsubishi RtMJ with the most recent shipment dispatched in July.

In February this year, Mitsubishi RtMJ and Carbine signed the MOU, and more recently a $400,000 advance payment against future shipments was received to support optimisation work at Carbine’s Tailings Retreatment Plant.

The village of Stanley, N.B., is one step closer to getting a massive tungsten mine.

Vancouver-based Northcliff Resources submitted its environmental-impact assessment to the federal government. It wants to start an open-pit tungsten mine in Stanley. The tungsten mine could employ hundreds of residents.

Northcliff’s Greg Davidson said the company has done the ground work and the public has nothing to fear.

“I certainly identify the concerns we’ve heard over the past couple of years. We’ve implemented mitigation strategies to minimize any impacts,” he said.

Northcliff expects to create 500 jobs during the construction phase — that's more than the population of Stanley.

It anticipates 300 jobs during the 27-year operation.

MIIT to revise entry conditions for copper, tungsten and antimony industry.

Raw Materials Department of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China MIIT released on July 31 a report on development of Chinese nonferrous metals industry in H1 of 2013.

According to the report, nonferrous metals industry was burdened with serious overcapacity, high productions.

Carbine Tungsten Limited is pleased to announce that long-term off-take partner, Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Japan (“Mitsubishi RtMJ”) has recently participated in a site visit to the Mt. Carbine Tungsten Project in North Queensland.

Representatives from Carbine’s Board and Senior Management team accompanied Mitsubishi RtMJ’s President, Mr Kenji TANI, to site in July.

The purpose of the visit was for Mitsubishi RtMJ to conduct further due diligence on the Project following the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) between Carbine and Mitsubishi RtMJ signed in late February 2013.

The MOU outlined Mitsubishi RtMJ’s intention to provide up to $15,000,000 in project level funding to support the development plans for Carbine’s existing tungsten stockpiles and former hard rock open pit mine .
