How X-rays Generate?

How X-rays generate becomes a very important topic for researchers, as it will be much helpful for shielding it better.

Laboratory scale sources of X-rays draw a beam of electrons from the cathode of a vacuum tube. The beam is accelerated through several kilo-volts and focussed on to an anode. The anode is usually rotating to provide for  efficient distribution and dissipation of heat . The X-rays produced at the impact point are distributed over a wide angular range and cover a wide range of energies up to a maximum energy determined by the voltage at which the tube is operated.

In this way, X rays are generated when electrons undergo severe acceleration. This happen adventitiously in any electronic device that operates at several kilo-volt or more but it is a design feature of synchrotron and rotating anode vacuum tube X-ray generators.

Tungsten alloy material is one kind of suitable shielding for X-ray radiation, as its good radiation absorption ability and high density.
