Research on Tungsten Carbide Cutting Tool with Indexable Insert Needs Improvement

The research and development of tungsten carbide cutting tool with indexable insert in China currently still lag far behind the industrial developed countries. Therefore, the scientific research departments and institutions of higher education engaged in the development work of tungsten carbide cutting tool with indexable inserts should take full advantage of the funds allocated by the country and make progressive improvement towards the unreasonable structures in cutting tool with indexable inserts in China as soon as possible. Also, more new type cutting tools with indexable inserts should be developed, which will help form a complete series of indexable inserts in China to meet the different needs of machining. At present, blade coating technology in those industrial developed countries has developed to a high level and is heading to the development of multilayer coating (up to 2000), thinner layer of coating, and so on. There are many kinds of coating materials, such as TIN, TICN, AiZO3 etc. Chinese scientific research department should learn from the experience of blade coating technology abroad, and thus provide more advanced technology for those manufacturers with products of tungsten carbide cutting tool with indexable inserts.
