Cesium Tungsten Oxide Applied for Transparent Heat-insulation Film

Cesium tungsten oxide is often applied for manufacturing transparent heat-insulation film as it has excellent near-infrared (IR) shielding performance at the nanometer scale. And it is usually Cs0.33WO3 nanopowder. According to the experts, for bronze phase Cs0.33WO3, not only bandgap related UV light shielding, but also free electrons/mixed valence state related excellent IR shielding properties can be observed.

You know, there are other well-known commercial IR shielding materials. And they are widely utilized, such as, indium doped tin oxide (ITO), antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) and lanthanum boride (LaB6). However, the ITO and ATO show limited IR absorption ability in short IR wavelength region, while the LaB6 shows insufficient absorption in the long IR wavelength region. Cesium tungsten oxide, which has good excellent absorption in the near infrared band in the wavelength of 800-2500nm, is expected to replace ITO and ATO glass. And transparent heat-insulation film of Cs0.33WO3 nanoparticles is promising in the energy saving reconstruction of building.
